The International Association of Bryologists meets biennially, except when also meeting with the International Botanical Congress. In 2024, IAB will be present at the Congress in Madrid. The IAB council has voted to hold an in person meeting also in 2025 and then 2027.
We are seeking proposals to host the meeting in 2025. IAB seeks to rotate the host country among the continents, and after Europe (2019) and North America in 2021 (in person) and 2023 (virtual) we are hoping for proposals from Asia, Africa or South America.
Our meetings draw between 50-100 participants.
A proposal should include:
Information on the venue
- accessibility
- capacity
- lodging possibilities (hotels or other accommodations) etc.
Budget
- estimated registration
- other expenses etc.
- possibilities of sponsorships and other forms of support
Entry requirement
- information of possible visa requirement
Possibilities of field trips
- pre or post meeting field trips
