Seed funding for a new research project in bryology
Awarded to persons submitting a proposal for research in bryology. Given every two years at the IAB meetings.

How to apply
Proposals are called for in January of the year of the biennial IAB meeting, by an announcement in The Bryological Times.
Committee
Chaired by the Secretary-Treasurer, with two members appointed by Council.

The award amount is determined biennially by the Secretary-Treasurer.

Conservation and Endangered Species Grants
Support for projects on rare species, habitats and bryophyte hotspots
Open only to IAB members. The amount is normally up to US$1,000 per applicant. Grants may be made at any time provided funds are available, and are announced on the IAB website and in The Bryological Times. Priority is given to projects focusing on rare species, habitats or bryophyte hotspots in high need of conservation actions.

How to apply
The proposal should contain the following, and is sent to the Chair of the Conservation Committee:
- Description of project
- Its rationale
- Activities
- Budget
- Expected outputs
Submit to
The Chair of the Conservation Committee.
Review
The Conservation Committee recommends suitable applications; the IAB Council makes final approval.
Reporting
A Budget Report and a Project Report must be submitted within 2 years.
Publications
Any resulting publications must be sanctioned by IAB.
