The International Association of Bryologists is pleased to announce it is now accepting nominations for the Riclef Grolle Award. The award will be presented during the International Association of Bryologists meeting in Madrid, Spain in 2019. The award committee is chaired by Dr. William Buck (NY), and includes Dr. Hiroyuki Akiyama and Rosa Maria Ros. Below are details outlining the award and proposals. Dates: Committee accepting proposals January 01, 2019. Deadline : Friday, May 03, 2019, 12 pm GMT.
Eligibility: Intended for bryologists who work in developing countries and still manage to contribute significantly to the knowledge of bryodiversity in bryophyte-rich areas such as the tropics or smaller regions therein or in bryologically unexplored areas. Nominations are open to all IAB members.
Format: Only on-line submissions are accepted. The award recognizes outstanding contributions in bryodiversity. Recognition should consider such evidence as published work, outside grants and support, and establishment of facilities and collections in areas of need.
